One thing to consider is also spare parts like the cost of the needlewheel impeller or pump. Sometimes there is totally no support or very expensive to replace or the vendor might tell you this model discontinued. You got to buy a new model skimmer. One of the reason I go back to old school venturi skimmer that runs almost forever and I wont be limit by the choice of pumps. Cheers, James
