SRC Member starfish123 Posted January 13, 2013 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 13, 2013 tang... will sell off once grow too big. so for the clown what you mean is that there will be two pairs with two females and two males? if it is of different species will it form one big family with one female, one male and the rest unsexed? SRC Member starfish123 Posted January 15, 2013 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 15, 2013 removed the smaller clown pair and transfered them into another tank... any idea how to train them to eat pellets? right now only feeding henry reef gourmet but as tank is really small will need them to only eat pellets so as to not foul up the water... only have and feeding with ocean nutrition formular 1 or 2 small pellets but the clowns will eat them and then spit them out a second later. always showing interest in the pellets but never able to swollow... SRC Member diki88 Posted January 16, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted January 16, 2013 you did the right thing by removing the true perc pair. anyways, keep feeding the pellets. Its a good sign they recognise the pellet as food. Just tht at the moment, they dont like how it taste. Resist feeding henrys food for a few days and soon enough they will take the pellets. If u think its too big, use ur fingers to break it in half. SRC Member diki88 Posted January 16, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted January 16, 2013 anyways if you really want to have the 2 pair of clowns tgt in one tank, ill place the occelaris pair in the smaller tank instead. Tht way the smaller perc pair can establish their territory in the dt. Tht way when u reintroduce the occelaris, there's a smaller chance of the small perc pair attacking the bigger occelaris. Even if not, the perc pair in dt would allow u to feed henrys food without worrying about water quality. And the other fishes in the dt would act as dither fishes to encourage the perc pair to take pellets. Kelvin81
As for me I initially crush the pellet with my finger to feed my clownn.. then slowly move to semi and last just throw in the pellets. Works for me.

SRC Member starfish123 Posted January 18, 2013 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 18, 2013 hi bro bombom thanks for your help. stopped feeding hrnry reef gourmet to my smaller clowns and they started accepting pellets 1 day later. did not know it will be this easy. thanks bro kelvin, cruzer and jammer too. reason i did not try henry's pellet is because i will still be feeding henry's frozen and if i am not wrong frozen is more nutritious than pellets right?
