got 5 cuties fellows to let go..

wan redo my tank..so spare them the agony.. for now..

are they reefsafe? and i heard they only take starfish is there any other alternative? coz it's like cruel to cut the limbs of something alive

The only alternative is different species of Starfish.

They will take almost all kinds - but seem like the linkia sp. is a favourite.

You don't have to cut anything - just get small stars and feed the whole thing. If you don't want to feed it anything live- forget about keeping a halequin shrimp.

Yes they are reefsafe.

Yea...the cost of feeding them when starfish stocks are low is very expensive. Just bought an orange linkia just to feed my pair...can buy me 3 packets of chicken rice already......

either your chicken rice very cheap or you starfish very expensive... starfishes cost $5 max .. can even find $3...

i heard when they feed the starfish~~ u can see tiny meat floating all over the water~` which tend to dirty the water..

thats when the other shrimps do their work..

Normally I use sand stars as they are local and a cheaper alternative. About half the above price only.

Avoid blue linkias (the big ones). I find they tend to die off before the shrimps have even eaten 1/3 of them. And they end up polluting your water.

sure? Someone hear who have 2 harlequin says he prefers blue linkias coz they last longer.. I think he says 1 week or 2.

2 weeks is not very long. If the blue linkia survives perfectly fine without dying off, a hand sized specimen should last a pair a month or more.

its me lar, mine experience with blue linkia is good and it really last. Like i said on my previous thread, i bought a normal starfish beige n brown strips type, finish in 2 days....

yah, I know but FuEl say they are no good compared to the orange ones.
