metaphor89
Need help!!. i bought 2 clownfish and 1 tang 2 days ago. After putting them in the tank for a few hours. i feed them hikari marine s pellet. they would eat a few. But today they would just ignore the sinking pellets. Kayakkite
Check if clownfish any jaw lock. Normally, first few days can still eat but after jaw lock, they will just waste away slowly. Try feeding brine shrimp or meaty food. For tang, they like nori/ seaweed. If fishes are sick or having parasite infection, chances are they will not want to eat. Kayakkite
Blue tangs normally will hide during the night. They will look for shelter once lights off. Try not to disturb or stress them further. Brine shrimp, i'm using frozen hikari. For nori, the two little fishies.

SRC Member diki88 Posted June 29, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted June 29, 2013 Dont add anything for the time being. Wait out a week or two and just observe ur inverts. Let ur tank finish its cycle cause any traces of nitrite just means cycle is not really done You didnt actually list ur ammonia levels as well. Once u let ur tank stabilise, stock slowly. Most fishes wont eat immediately so theres no need for u to worry. The more u worry, the more u flood ur tank with food, the dirtier ur water will be and ur fish will suffer. One food thats havent failed me is cyclopeeze for smaller fishes. 1 Quote Quis custodiet ipsos custodes Too many people spend money they haven't earned to buy things they don't want to impress people they don't like. Admiraltian
was about to get a skimmer, but then my tank quite small so i thought water change is better.. Never dose leh If ur tank is new, u need to dose bacteria to boost up ur bacteria colony in order to reduce nutrients. How small is ur tank? Never dose leh Agree, I think for small tanks don't really need skimmer. Water changes would suffice. Did you acclimatise the fishes before releasing into DT? U can use a 2nd hand skimmer to filter cleaner water for your tank.
