Today finally got around to getting a phosphate and nitrate test kit.

Test results were quite surprising. Lower than expected

Nitrate: 5ppm

Phosphate: 0.05ppm

Also tested kh which was 7dkh, which is quite low, so added some liquid kh.

However my zoa seems to be getting worse, and it seems like it is only this particular head. the rest are fine.

The black spots are growing bigger and a portion of it at the edges seems to turn white and look like it is falling off.

Help please

It is a possibility, i did some reading and it seems like they do sting :rip: . goodbye corals.. Sighs, was trying to remove the affected coral and accidentally cut it quite badly, i removed the whole frag as i was afraid of the palytoxins getting into the water.. Should have done better research first.. sighs..

Its ok bro. We all learn from mistake. Remember to wear gloves when moving LR and handling corals. I kena sting by bristle worm before and have a hard time removing the bristles from my finger. After that, I went to daiso to get the $2 gloves.

Well some set backs faced. When I came home for the first time I saw my clam closed. Was so worried and wondered if it was pyramid snails. So I tried searching at night and found nothing. Next day I saw my yellow coris attack the clam very fiercely right in the center. So I quickly removed it and gave it away. Right after that the clam opened up fully

Not much changes. Found out that I really do have pyramid snails. Went to get a small 6 line to handle it. The green monti has spots of white on it. Which could be due to stress. Have been knocking it over or taking it out of the water for changes

RIP my clam it was doing ok one day and the next it started to close. Should have done a fresh water dip immediately also found quite a few pyramid snails. I waited too long and the fwd might have sealed its fate. Oh well was too ambitious. Think should go back to easy corals

My tank is almost half a year old!

Just some updates, have recently added some macro algae which died causing my tank parameters to go haywire.

Had cyano and hair algae growth. Recently gotten some algone from madpetz. Thanks Ken for the suggestion! and never regretted

Now my nitrates is undetectable using salifert test kit. Having been running rowa also so phosphates also undetectable.

The rest of the parameters have been very good.

Hope the HA goes away soon.

Have gotten a xenia from a nice reefer but e heads doesnt seem to be opening, will give it a few more days to see.

6 line and my nemo seems to be getting along very well

Just came back from taiwan, n my tank was full of hair algae. sighs, nitrates and phosphates still undetectable. Have upgraded to a IQ5 from a nice reefer, with a cool backdrop. Will use it for QT after getting my new tank

Hey Nice Tank!!

I remember starting out with a nano tank just like yours. i did regular water change 10%-15% every 3days with seawater bought from ahbeng or that i took from marina pier. My corals and fishes were healthy. it was easy because its just a small tank no need for any other supplements.

Ups for you bro.
