Hi all, thanks to all the bros that have helped me in my beginner tank thread, I have set up my first tank. 4 x1.5 x2.

Currently running a wp25 and BH1000 hob skimmer as I have no sump. Attached are pictures of my previous freshwater tank and my current tank along with a clown I just got from pinnacle!

Tank have been cycled for 2weeks plus with liverocks from another bro.

Anyone has suggestions on what fish to keep? Planned butterflies, one or two angels, sea stars and a fox face maybe a bannerfish

Hye bro.. if me i will get 1 pair of clownfish since there r also other fish in your list. As u plan to keep butterflyfish n angels it will be hit n miss if u plan to keep coral. But most important plan your stocking list as in what fish to go in first cos some r aggressive some cannot mix, etc.. and stock super slowly to build enough beneficial bacteria in your system

Hi there, thanks for the your opinions! I'm actually willing to sacrifice some options to host more clowns. Currently thinking of fowlr only as I have no experience and budget with corals so yea..

Ic ic.... i am no expert about more than 1 pair of clowns cos never keep more than that. Maybe some experts can help cos im no expert. But from what ive studied. Clowns can be aggressive towards other clowns. Better chance if add them all at the same time and have tons of territories for them. But to add lots of fish at the same time wont be good also cos your tank still fresh.so sorry bro got not much to u. As for me i try to stock with different different coloured fish.

Butterfly r beautiful bro but the more harder to keep fish. U can be successful with butterfly bro. Make sure before u buy u observe them making sure they are heathy and eating n responsive. Still got no guarantee in the long run but u stand a better chance. Again i nver own a butterfly. I wish to own 1 but i cant cos of my yellow tang. He is the big bro in my tank now . Super fierce.

Quarantine tank is necessary bro.. but to be honest i dont have 1. And so far so good. Its not that i dont want to have 1 but its the space issue. My 4x2x2 tank inside my room that share with my bro. Limited working space especially during water changes. Back breaking man. Btw, quarantine tank size also depend on the livestocks size that u wanna get. The bigger the better. So parameter wont fluctuate so much. More stable. If me i go with 2 feet tank for quarantine. Again this is depending on your fish size.

Very nice scape! I would strongly recommend a quarantine tank. Make the space for it. I have a quarantine tank but was too lazy to use it properly and I'm now paying for it. White spot outbreak wiped out half my livestock and I'm now battling to eradicate it from my system. It's slightly better with a fowlr since you can copper treat your tank, but if you do you won't be able to keep any invertebrates, even cleaner crew and anemones for your clowns. Clownfish can get very aggressive, depending on species. You can try to get a harem of juveniles of the same species to watch their natural dynamics in a group, but that would limit the other fish in your tank that you can keep, but not sure if this would work since you bought one already. I would recommend sticking to one pair in your tank, or max 2 pairs if you get 2 anemones.

Will try to convince my parents haha, still a student. Don't think I can handle the anemone yet, so just 1 pair then. Are there any triggers that could fit in my tank size?

Shouldn't be an issue to use even when it's clumped up. It will still dissolve in water.
