my 4X2X2 upgrade

im gonna upgrade from a 3X1.5X1.5 to a 4X2X2

Setup is from aquariam aritist.

the tank is not ready yet... so ill show u guys some pics of my current tank.

the new tank should arrive next week

ive been in the hobby for a few years.. but only had success with this 3f tank(abt 5 months). so yes.... many rookie mistakes

in the water drum is RODI water , and some live and dead rocks....

sorry water is not clear yet... still some more rocks to be added in. i plan to have it in a slope shape

next is the sump

skimmer : sm163

pump :fluval SP4 abt 7000L per hour

gonna add filter wool and bio-spheres and a refugium

i choose 2 packets of live black sand and one white. may add more soon

chiller is a hailea HS-66A

lastly a kamoer dosing pump

going to get more rocks on saturday gonna try to have a small 'tree' like sturcture by the side

Are you talking about the "waterfall" noise? If it is then you need to raise the water level in the overflow (higher drain PVC pipe). You can get Vincent to do for you.

The other thing is. Is there a ball valve installed in the return pipe? It has to be adjusted to reduced the amount of bubbles coming down.

I had this issue before but resolved it.

1) You'll need to slow down the flow rate of the down pipe from the overflow to the sump. This can be done with a ball valve.

• This will allow the water level inside the overflow box to rise a little & allow the durso overflow pipe to be in a full siphon (it is not now).
• Because it is not, you get a lot of air in the downpipe which creates a lot of noise

2) The pipe in the sump should exit below the water level. Putting a filter sock there may also help

bought a orange chalice, some palys and a pink gonio today... hard to take pics due to lack of space. gonna transfer the corals into the 4x2x2 on friday/thursday ... will post updates...

anyway here are my plans for the tank

mainly LPS tank, with one or two sps

im gonna have quite a few anemones in the tank(probably my favourite coral) ...as i already have 4-6 pieces (mostly pink rbta)

also gonna add some gonio (blue/purple/pink)

zoas/paly colony

and a yuma corner

fishes

platinum clown pair

regular clown pair( have that alr)

two helfrichi firefish

two flame dart fish ( have one now)

two yellow tang

one purple tang(maybe?)

gotta get rid of my irritating demsels and puffer
