AI LED lighting.

Recommended Posts

it all depend on what is the mount you are using. for the spread , i would suggest 2  units as the side of the tank might not have enough lighting

You might need to get this mount : http://www.theaquariumsolution.com/d-d-slimline-designer-bracket

FYI : AI  does not comes with mounting in the box . you will need to get it separately.

Humble tank :

Size: 4x2.5x2 ft - Display

Equipment :

Return 1 : Ecotech marine L1

Return 2 : Ecotech marine M1

CR : Skimz CM122 - Caribsea extra course media with Grotech magnesium

Light : ATI 8x54W

For a 3 ft tank 1 Hydra 52 HD is enough if your scape is centre of front or back glass.

If your scape is almost close to  front and /or  back glass then these area may not have enough PAR

if the LS you keep in these area are light demanding.

For such case 2 Hydra 52 hd will cover the whole area

6.5 * 2 * 2 + 3.75 * 1.5 *1.5,(Decomn on 14/9/08)
4*2*2 + 2.5*1.25*1.25 (Decomn on 1/8/09)
5*2*2 (Fully LED light system, 140 3 watt SSC leds with 60 degree lens)(Decomm)
2.5*2*2(Fully LED Light System,96 3 watt SSC leds with 60 degree lens)(Decomm)

5*2.5*2(LED only)

Eheim return 1 * pump

1 HP Daikin compressor with cooling coil
2 Jebao OW40, 1 ecotech MP40,
1X6085 Tunze wm,

1 CURVE 7 Skimmer

1 DIY 80 led control by Bluefish mini

1 radion XR30W G2, 2 Radion XR15G3

Sump area lite by 5 ft T5 , 6 * SSC 3 watt red LED for refugium

1 Full spectrum E27 led light

1 CR control by bubble count

Add new 2.5x2x 1.5 ft

For sharing, this is my setup with 2x Hydra26 (3x1.5x1.5).

For 322, i agree with the suggestions provided earlier - i.e. 1 to 2 units Hydra 52 depending on your scape.

Depending on the width of the tank but for a 3x2x2, One unit hydra 52 HD should be good enough

Hello Larry,

Thank you after reading I think one may not be enough if I wanted the light spectrum to spread it across the tank.

I also read up LED is spot lighting won't it harm the corals?

The number represent the par reading which is a measurement of the amount of light .

Do you like the spread of the lighting?

You need a PAR meter or seneye tank controller to measure the PAR value.

If you like spot lighting change the lens from default 80 deg to 45 or 60 deg

But I not sure AI has such lens

6.5 * 2 * 2 + 3.75 * 1.5 *1.5,(Decomn on 14/9/08)
4*2*2 + 2.5*1.25*1.25 (Decomn on 1/8/09)
5*2*2 (Fully LED light system, 140 3 watt SSC leds with 60 degree lens)(Decomm)
2.5*2*2(Fully LED Light System,96 3 watt SSC leds with 60 degree lens)(Decomm)

5*2.5*2(LED only)
