I'm thinking that if i add a chiller like you do bro i'll rather modify the hood than to install a whole new light set but still thinking very hard bout installing a chiller... I bet 1 fine day all the hair on my head will be white unless I get a chiller soon... hehe...

1ft cube with IOS [the low tech tank]

1. JBJ C-breeze to keep temp hovering around 27-28'C

2. LED clip on - 120 bulbs

-skimmer-less-

My 3 humble equipments that keeps my tank running... [DRIED OUT]

1. The RSM itself of course 2.My NEW Deltec MCE-300 Skimmer 3. My trusty Arctica Chiller

Tank parameters:

Temperature maintained at 25.3'C to 24.7'C

No3: 10ppm(b4 the use of the deltec skimmer)

No3: 5ppm (after use of the skimmer)

Others? too lazy to measure...LOL

hey bro,

it doesn't seem that hard installing a chiller. If you refer to my thread, all i need to to run 2 pipes behind my tank and run it with a chiller! takes last than 1/2 hour. Trust me, having a chiller is different from running it with a fan. It's got it owns pros and cons. The best part is that now i seldom top up water like what I did the past. Imagine, hot weather like now, i can used up to 2 bottles of 1.5l of distill water. Now, I top up like every 2 weeks! Also, with temp maintain ard 26.5 degree, I can 100% guarantee that your corals coloration looks nicer, but u must maintain your water parameters lah!

Modify the hood, yes can no problem unless you are great in electrical work. But for me, i wont dare to try it out...cos know really nuts about wiring stuffs. Bear maybe in future, i will try it out during I very "Eng"!

Referring to JBJ site, now they came up with a replacement/modification hood which can replace it with MH! That's some stuff that I'm thinking of getting but seems like it not available in LFS. But bear in mind, running a MH needs CHILLER, so at the end of the day...getting a chiller is to solve most of the problems that me facing now.

PM or Call me if you want some help...if i free, i can help u! :D

well, recently spent lots of time on work....was really sianzz manz!

Regards on the lightings effect on the original light tubes that came with the brand hopar...I'm not that satisfy the coloration. Daylight looks dark.so bo piang, keep thinking of my previous tank tubes that I used which is D&D. So head down to reef depot to obtain all my tubes....manz, costs me a bomb! But guess that I'm buying something quality!

Pics of the light tubes.
