Is the behaviour normal?

Just came back from a lfs, saw a black clown with yellow face and yellow tail (not sure what clown is that), too nice for me to give a miss. But when I brought the fish back, it does not swim or go near to the carpet anemone I have, instead it is always on the sand on the bottom of the tank. Is it normal to have such behaviour?

Please advice.

Thanks!

Not normal. I got two and immediately they became king of the tank within a day.

Thanks, it is sabae alright. I bought two, one is sabae the other is clarkii I think. And YES.....the sabae has now fully taken over the anemone I bought and the poor clarkii ( ithink) has been chased out.

Problem is now my anemone is hiding one corner very near the power head. Part on the sand and part on the glass. Any idea how to get it back onto the live rock?

THANKS for all the advices and contributions!

Also..there is more to anemone health than feeding and lights. You will probably have to know whether the anemone is naturally found on reefs in the first place. For instance, the carpet anemone is found anchored in the sand bed in the wild...and it is very very fine sand..not anchored onto rocks.

found it for ..see here

I have changed the water and bought myself a new anemone (looks not so brown, a little pinkish) and a maroon clown $8 from Sealife. Both seems to settle down pretty fine, the maroon in the anemone all the time.

Was actually going to look for a company for this maroon, but lor Harlus today not much fishes.

Any advice what clown would go best with maroon?

Thanks! :D
