SRC Member tunicate Posted August 19, 2011 SRC Member Share Posted August 19, 2011 The types of fish & corals are limited by the size of your tank. So it's a good idea to indicate what you'll like to keep.
SRC Member starfish123 Posted August 24, 2011 Author SRC Member Share Posted August 24, 2011 gobies, angelfishes and clowns...
SRC Member tunicate Posted August 24, 2011 SRC Member Share Posted August 24, 2011 gobies and clowns are generally ok for a small 24g nano tank if you stay within the number. Angelfishes especially those non-dwarf species can exceed 1 foot in size when grown. So you have to choose carefully. A 1.5ft cube tank is approximately 25g in capacity. Feeding its dimension into below formula gets you 7 inches worth of fish. That's about 2-3 gobies or clowns the system can safely support. http://www.howmanyfish.com/#page=page-1 Below is a site where you can check out the fishes you may like to keep. Generally, many fishes are not suitable to be kept in a small nano tank. This is part of the research every reefer needs to do before going out on livestock shopping. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/aquarium-fish-supplies.cfm?c=15 Just for good measure, below is the link to fish compatibility chart. http://www.liveaquaria.com/general/compatibility_chart.cfm

Which one is better??? from your requirements, I would sugget you build a nano tank with IOS. Check out Peacemaker IOS nano tank threads. AhSiang 's tank is another IOS tank. The larger the tank, the better it is. It will even be better if you can have a sump but am not sure if your $250 encompass pump, lights and everything. cheers, happy sourcing and happy reefing - in time to come. SRC Member starfish123 Posted August 27, 2011 Author SRC Member Share Posted August 27, 2011 does kwong ling tank come with lights???What type???
SRC Member tunicate Posted August 27, 2011 SRC Member Share Posted August 27, 2011 Kwong Ling at Kelantan Road does picture frames as well as customizes fish tanks. In fact, I ordered my sump tank from Kwong Ling. However, it specializes solely on glass. I'm afraid you'd have to get your lightnings separately. SRC Member tunicate Posted September 3, 2011 SRC Member Share Posted September 3, 2011 Since you indicated just "gobies, angelfishes and clowns... ", it is possible to do away with chiller for a FOWLR setup. Using fan is a cheaper option.
SRC Member starfish123 Posted September 6, 2011 Author SRC Member Share Posted September 6, 2011 planning to setup a FOWLR first but will upgrade when i am ready. Will add corals then. SRC Supporter Harlequinmania Posted September 6, 2011 SRC Supporter Share Posted September 6, 2011 For ready make tank, you can consider; 1) REDSEA MAX ( Plug and play ) or 2) IQ5 tank from DE Lighting ( Almost plug and play ) as well .. SRC Member DUCADOS Posted September 6, 2011 SRC Member Share Posted September 6, 2011 If u r not keep coral, u can make do without a chiller... If u need the water to be cooler, a fan will do. In fact, FOWLR tank is good without a chiller in terms of white spot will not come visit your fishes! Quote Some1 doesn't 1 2 do anything find an excuse,some1 1 2 do something find a mean!
