  1. if not wrong, iwarna got sell tank covers right?
  2. I think its fine cause we are already advertising for non-sponsors in the Weekly LFS Report. So for sponsors all the more its okay.
  3. skimmer wise - biggest capacity per $ is best. all 3 skimmers are in the same class. curve 9 up to 1500L, both skimz is up to 2000L. from my experience both brands produce workhorse skimmers. after sales also good since skimz is local and for bm, if u get from razali, his after sales is also good. Biopellet - to be honest, I am using one. but for a fowlr, I think its not worth ur time running the extra equipment. I am on my last batch of biopellets and once they are finished, I will pull them out. refugium - also not needed for fowlr. the cons outweigh the pro. all this my opinion though. u can still run them if u like. no harm just extra maintenance. drop by TFC. see their main tank fowlr. even if its 8ft, the sump is fairly simple. and perhaps you can get a few tips from their friendly boss as well.
  4. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2008-08/nftt/ do keep in mind the redfield ratio when trying to reduce nitrates and phosphates as well.
  5. dose until u shiok. like seriously dose for minimum one month. every 3-7 days just dose recommended amt for ur tank cause : 1. LR will absorb 2. Skimmer will go crazy abit and skim it out also 3. Flukes eggs like cockroach eggs. super hard to kill. so dose happily. no danger in overdosing. BUT first dose, dose abit abit. test. cause if really ur fish got flukes infestation, all these flukes that drop off will leave ur fishes with small microscopic holes. they will even shake more when kena prazi.
  6. looks like not only kindergarten got petty kids, this place also have.

  15. I shall assume things like CR or dosing pump is your preference. Its more of which nutrient export method is better. You can go the natural route or "man-made" route. Natural Set up a refugium. You mention you have LRs and sand inside your sump. Add chaeto and a good light and you're good. Pros : one ball of chaeto can last u forever. Pods can grow and that means food for your fish and corals. Almost a set and forget route. Cons : chaeto may break and start clogging ur return pump. With a refugium, if not taken care of, may start trapping detritus which makes things worse. Any stirring of the sand or LR may release nutrients. You need to prune the chaeto once in awhile. If not nutrients absorbed by it released again. "Man-made" Route As the bros mentioned, you can set up FRs for rowaphos or biopellets or both. Pros : Clean, no mess. The things in the FR will really do what it says, to strip your water of nutrients. No need worry about it releasing any nutrients back to water column. Cons : Expensive. FR and whats inside it not cheap. Rowa/GFO/GAC/biopellets need to change on a regular basis. More pumps to run the FR means more electricity. Tuning of FR also can irritate you if the media is not tumbling properly. Other equips you may add is UV light, denitrator, or even your filter wool or filter socks.
  16. Since ur in China, this awesome skimmer wouldn't be hard to get. http://www.jnsaquaria.com/2007html/news/view.php?lang=eng&ID=55
  17. It didnt because I pulled them out before they could rot. So its best if u do dose copper in a tank with LR, u got to have time in the nxt few hrs to observe ur tank. Seachem Stability is like a bacteria mix if not wrong so even according to the Seachem Website FAQ, u can use stability before dosing cupramine. Paraguard is not as effective as cupramine. To be honest, I think paraguard abit the snake oil. But if u insist, then paraguard is good for fish baths, not dosing into ur tank unless u rich.
  18. 1) ammonia spike will happen if ur LR got alot of living things and u mentioned ur tank is quite young. My LR before I coppered looked clean, when I put copper literally 20-30 worms start crawling out and die. So these two may combine to produce an ammonia spike. Also dependent on how big is ur tank. Hypo vs Copper As boss of TFC teach me, hypo is abit like TCM and copper is like western medicine. Hypo needs u to be disciplined and takes a longer time than u using copper which most ppl can attest to seeing results within days. So the choice is up to u. Personal opinion, copper. Easy, fuss free. My tank has been coppered for 7 weeks now to the point im a little lazy/not bothered to pull it out.
  19. so as long as they hv not matured in the first place. meaning all angels are protogynous hermaphrodites, they are females when juvenile and change to male according to situation and condition. its easier to "pair" angels which display sexual dimorphism than those without.
  20. nice build. can see u put alot of effort and planning into this tank. just a few qtns/suggestions, 1) why did u decide to go the middle return pump compartment? 2) ur power strip is quite close to the sump, any plans to cover it up? also with the return pipe in the middle, will it pose any problem getting to the plugs? that's not factoring in the chiller hoses/pipes also. 3) since ur using the beautiful 90p, another option for overflow to complement the braceless and sleek look of the tank would be this: however, got drilling involved which I think Razali can help you with. anyways, really nice tank and build. hope to see more of it. cheers
