  1. I read somewhere that if u are hardworking, pinching them out of the water with tweezers would do the job too. But that's provided u can pinch out 20-30 at a time, greatly reducing their reproduction rates. A few lone individuals won't be able to reproduce. So as long as u maintain the hardwork it should be cleared
  2. LEDs are supposed to save electricity compared to MH and T5. I can't comment on which LED is good for Sps cos I don't keep any myself yet. But I do believe in going for branded LEDs, especially those that give u the capabilities of controlling it.
  3. I'm thinking of sharing too. 1 tub for me if u are getting
  4. Got more corals then fish. So got to see how I can get the right wave for the tank. Will update when I got the solution
  5. Thanks Subzero yups that's what I meant.
  6. AM is having a 25% discount off their Salifert test kits. Can consider
  7. Cheato growth is dependent on light. So if splitting it into 2 balls can give it more surface area for light absorption, it would grow faster.
  8. Just need to make sure no impurities get into the water ba. Newspaper can be quite dirty
  9. I think the way it is now without the wave maker seems to be better for both corals and the remaining clown fish. I shall keep it this way. Intending to add in a hydor low flow pump to increase the flow by just a little.
  10. Should be alright as long as it's in a closed (preferably tight) container. But do stir the water before adding it into your tank.
  11. That sounds like a good idea. I was thinking of using a canister filter as a biofilter holder to free up space in my sump. Shall see how.
  12. Nothing wrong with mixing the salt in the tank. Just that all the rock formation and other structures within the tank would tend to trap salt, affecting the mixing process. Some salt might also sink to the sandbed before it get mixed up. Usually what I do is to have a big transparent container with a wave maker in there. Fill it up with ro/di water and then pour the salt in. Leave it there until the salt has more or less been mixed. There may be salt that has sunk to the bottom and cannot be reached by the wavemaker. So got to stir them up. Its easier with the wavemaker as less energy is needed and I can get other things done while it mixes (usually 15mins).
  13. Bro, would be better to mix your water before adding it to your tank instead of mixing your salt within your itself.
  14. Bro .. how did u do that? I tried adjusting the wavemaker to 1 bar of power and the slowest setting. It still pushes onto my hand quite hard.
  15. Powder tang, I drip acclimate my star for 2 hours before introducing it into my main tank.
  16. What I do is that I have a tiny tank (those FW beta tanks) and I add tank water to it. After that I put the bag inside it. The tiny tank keeps the bag upright and the tank water inside it helps to adjust the temperature closer to tank temperature while I drip in my tank water.
  17. Got this from CF on Saturday. They still have many more
  18. Had the dial in the middle of fast and slow. Shall wait for tomorrow then try again. Dun want to tire my remaining clown.
  19. Yups I think that's what happen to this little fella. Add to the fact that the bully from his buddy during their pairing process has taken its toll. Have since switched off my wave maker and leave the wave duty to only my return pump. I started with a Tunze 6015. Then changed to a Jebao RW4 set at power 1. I wonder what produces less power then that.
  20. Today marks the day of my Tank's first casualty. The smaller of 2 true perc clowns I added decided that Angry Man's cave would be his resting ground. His buddy is still doing well. Though I have a feeling my wave maker's wave might be the cause of the death. How do we know if there's too much flow in the tank?
