  1. Nano can only just be seen at about 400x mag, but not with sufficient detail to tell species. Copepods are easier:
  2. Thanks guys... Yes, some of the bodies are darkening up and some black is developing - a bit too early yet to tell if they will inherit dad's black body and fins...(hoping...hoping.. ). As you can see, it takes ages for color and pattern to develop in percs - these guys are 4-5 months old and many don't even have their second stripe!!
  3. Very normal, what....common in most chinese dinner appetizer selections. Yummy!
  4. Yup....and real nice looking! LCK may still have the big one.....the nice small one at CF already bought by DA to test for reef-safeness
  5. Aiyah....no problems lah - well wrapped in plastic bags already shoud be OK. My freezer got fish, birds, tortoise...
  6. It's really a HDB ruling.....same goes for cats...
  7. should work....altho it can get a bit messy. The plastic ones some people use for BBS can work but you might loose some of the smaller rotifers - used it once when I couldn't find my 53 micron mesh...
  8. Yup...got from AM. Only saw the 2 and they look like they might be a pair...Until now, can't seem to get them to eat anything
  9. Wah...Justiana, you coffee shop kopi expert! Generally I prefer the coffee shop type over fast food/new and trendy coffee outlets. Stronger and more character....if done right! - some coffee shops nowadays just have very generic coffee...so sad... My friend told me his father found out one day why some of the old time coffee shops have such "must drink" kopi - one day saw the kopi maker take a scoop of something from a tin and chuck into the coffee....thinks it's opium . Nowadays. I think this kind of kopi very difficult to find already Miss my varietal coffees - that's the only thing the new coffee shops have going for them. Think Jamaican Blue Mountain is over-rated and over-priced...Used to like Kenyan AA, until I discovered Aged Sumatran Medhling....wah...heavenly. Now cannot find anymore Anybody ever try the supposedly super nice coffee - the one that goes through civet cats before being collected? Supposed to impart a "special flavour" to the coffee
  10. Eh....I saw on an Aussie price list - AUD$25 only leh....
  11. Percs fight all the time...mine started at about day 16
  12. Hi Bro, Unfortunately, percs take ages to color up! Read somewhere that they may take up to a year or so before the black color starts to fill in!! Even the striping takes ages - my oldest batch is only now starting to get a third stripe...and some don't even have much or a second stripe yet!! Looks like your oscis are starting to darken up already!
  13. Yo....smuggled some back to Oz? Nice work. Hope they do well....then the $$$ will flood in
  14. Hi Bro, Seen your thread on RC - good documentation of the spawn Please keep us informed of the fry's progress. I'm particularly interested to see how the will turn out - like black oscis, normal colored, or a mix of the two!
  15. Oh....and I thought this was another TOTM congrats thread! Congrats, dad and mum....now the fun..or hard labour...begins - depends on how you look at it!
  16. There's no way you can suck those eggs off. Even if you can detach them, the would probably quickly become non-viable. The only way is to move the rock out. Eggs should hatch sometime now Only thing you can do is to try to attract them to one area of the tank and scoop them out with a cup or something. They don't do well with nets....
  17. May be hard to get now as it's a back issue. Heard there is a shop in Hougang Mall that sells all kinds of magazine back issues. Not sure they have or not. Alternatively, call the distributor and check where you can get it
  18. Check out the April issue of Tropical Fish Hobbyist - article on spawning Priolepis nocturna Mainly on spawning, tho...which you already have. Larvae is about 1/3 size of clownfish larvae so first larval feed is a problem....
  19. One word....tourist Where do you think all that s**t that people produce daily end up at.... High nutrient water = poor SPS conditions.....
  20. Don't any how say, OK....Understand CF is negotiating with a supplier to supply the fish. Feb is the season so start saving Meanwhile....for your viewing pleasure....
  21. Reviving this thread with a new acquisition - a Black Sailfin Goby, Flabelligobius sp. As far as I know, there are only 2 of these in Singapore
