SRC TOTQ Winner bellinayu Posted July 21, 2013 Author SRC TOTQ Winner Share Posted July 21, 2013 As I am approaching Aug, I am experimenting with a few sps frags - birdnest, digs, montis. Decide to make it more spacious by removing some rocks. Removed the zoas from the rock as it was accumulating detritus. The zoas are now on my sand bed. Supplementing my razor nano with a par 38 and another cheap LED. See the pic of the equipment and set-up of this tank. Kalk hooked up to a top-up, FR with Rowa phos media, Reeflive skimmer and UTS as nutrient exporter. Dosing micro bacter 7 and biofuel. SRC TOTQ Winner bellinayu Posted July 21, 2013 Author SRC TOTQ Winner Share Posted July 21, 2013 I keep getting missing fishes and I can't find their bodies. Just yesterday, I saw my blue neon goby and blue line pipefish swimming around and today both went missing and I can't even find their bodies. Here's a pic of my sharknose goby. slapper
The clams are very nice. Noticed that your tank has no lid/cover. Be careful fishes may jump out. i've lost many fishes this way. Quote My Tank Journey
SRC TOTQ Winner bellinayu Posted July 22, 2013 Author SRC TOTQ Winner Share Posted July 22, 2013 6 mths in aug. my blue lined pipe fish re-appeared. I only keep peaceful and timid fishes and not jumpers in this nano so shouldn't loose any fish in that manner. SRC TOTQ Winner bellinayu Posted November 24, 2013 Author SRC TOTQ Winner Share Posted November 24, 2013 It has been a long time since I updated my nano thread. The concept was supposed to be gobies and zoas. After my unsuccessful attempt of introducing gres, gbg, red scooter and white cap, I wanted to give up. These fishes don't come in cheap. Due to the recent reduction of prices of these fishes, I thought of giving it my last go. Will keep them in the betta box first to try to get them feed on frozen. Have started to hatch bbs for them. Also bite the bullet to pair up my helfrichi. I've put it in the container first to get them acquainted. Since releasing it, there was no aggression. Hope it remains that way. Next fish will be the gbg. SRC Member peacemaker Posted December 2, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted December 2, 2013 I've posted this question on another thread but I'll post it here since you probably missed it. Why the need to suppliment the Razor Nano with PAR38?
SRC TOTQ Winner bellinayu Posted December 2, 2013 Author SRC TOTQ Winner Share Posted December 2, 2013 The razor nano's coverage is limited and can't cover my entire tank leaving some shadows so I supplement it with a par 38 Quote Member of: Please visit us here: http://www.facebook....uaristSocietySG Facebook Group: http://www.facebook....gid=34281892381
SRC Member peacemaker Posted December 3, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted December 3, 2013 Hmmm... I know the spread of Razor isn't much, but usually for nano tanks, raising the set higher should achieve a better coverage. Is your judgement based on visual or your coral health? SRC TOTQ Winner bellinayu Posted December 3, 2013 Author SRC TOTQ Winner Share Posted December 3, 2013 Peace, The light set is at it's highest. Anyway my par38 supplement is more for aesthetics and not growth. I can do without it as well. It's really very much personal preference. SRC TOTQ Winner bellinayu Posted January 1, 2014 Author SRC TOTQ Winner Share Posted January 1, 2014 Lost all my fishes due to ATO malfunction and salinity of the tank shot up. Had to re-stock all my fishes again. This tank as compared to my 3ft tank, has higher casualty rate. Fishes list: helfrichi Yasha goby, Randall goby, Griessingeri, sunburst anthias. Come to think of it, this tank has more fishes than my 3 ft. Corals list: Assorted zoas Acans Florida rics Pulsing Xenia Quote Member of: Please visit us here: http://www.facebook....uaristSocietySG Facebook Group: http://www.facebook....gid=34281892381

SRC TOTQ Winner bellinayu Posted January 1, 2014 Author SRC TOTQ Winner Share Posted January 1, 2014 My idea for this nano was to create an environment for timid fishes such as gobies, pipefishes, dart fishes to be seen out in the open; however, they continue to remain in hiding.
