On thursday i filled up the tank and sump with distillld water 0tds.
I took off my ro, after the 3rd stage, it went to di instead. The flow rate is veryyyyyy fast. Produced 0tds of 320litres in 1.5 hour!! :goodjob: However the di resins will be completely exhausted after 320litres. Tds will rise to 1 and 2 and so on.

total refilled 2 di resins to fill up tank and sump which cost me 12$ for 660 litres .

post-22536-14087930976185_thumb.jpg

Friday, Dumped 1 whole bucket of skimz salt 20kg. Salinity went above 1.030 as i didnt on my return pump.
post-22536-14087933681172_thumb.jpg

Was playing around with the scape on the floor first. stacking , arranging , epoxy and glue here and there.
Took me especially lots of time for this tonga.
post-22536-14087938233828_thumb.jpg

post-22536-14087935039356_thumb.jpg

Then moved it into the tank and changed a little.
post-22536-14087935685904_thumb.jpg

Then substrate in, still need about roughly 30lbs of special grade caribsea more .

Nice coast to coast overflow bean animal. I belive more will start to use this system

yes i belive more will start to use this overflow as well !!

right now its me and tofubox using

Solid!! Cant wait for her to be filled up (:

its filled :yahoo:

Solid !!!

thanks bro , your sps is solid too

Can snap a detail pic of the coast to coast overflow bean animal. Quite a funny name. Ha ha

http://www.beananimal.com/projects/silent-and-fail-safe-aquarium-overflow-system.aspx

and

http://www.glassreef.com/basics_overflow.php

this will explain how it works haha. imo it is durso standpipe without hole at the cap and control water level in the overflow by a valve ,+ it is external + better surface skimming to remove oil etc + 2 extra pipes for emergency incase the siphon pipe is clogged up. ( happens to me once !!!!! tank overflowed. :chair: )

Oh and i have also changed my nozzle that i bought from madpetz.

Changed my nozzle from this

ugepy9ud.jpg

To

a3ugyqeb.jpg

Why ? Because it is longer! Better control of flow direction + Can go under the water level so it will not cause splashing of saltwater out of the tank and also to remove the splashing noise.

An advise for those who is planning to make New tanks, make sure u get a threaded bulkhead or u will find yourself to be quite in a dipshit like me looking for the nozzle that is for SLIP bulkhead. almost all the online stores US/fishstreet etc is selling threaded. And i realised , almost all local tank makers likes to use slip bulkhead which is a nono for me but i didnt know untill last minute.

take note of that ya (:

Will improve it by epoxying a few more branches!

Rescaped my top left a little. It is much more stable. Applied pressure on every corners and it remains still.

Tank is cloudy from bacteria boom , am spamming daily 2 vials of biodigest , 1 vial of bioptim , fm ultra bak , zv zeostart3.

post-22536-14088626061342_thumb.jpg

Once it is cycled and stabled, will collect back all my corals from 6 of my friends and chiong sps colonies to fill it up (:

Will also be changing my regular ball valve to either union with gate valve or union ball valve ( much better than regular ball valve in fine tuning flow).

Any suggestions which route should i go with ?
