Sponsor dr evil Posted September 29, 2014 Sponsor Share Posted September 29, 2014 Thermal chiller can never work on your tank size. Get a chiller like Hailea hs28a 1/10hp which can work well in your tank. This chiller is only 300+.

Or most of the time is in standby mode because I heard from my reefer friend claims that his artica chiller standby at 90% of the time.. Edmund Koh
The bigger your chiller, the higher chances of it being in stand by mode as it takes a shorter time to cool ur tank down to the required temperature. (Some small chillers won't even be able to get to the temperature you want and end up running 24/7) However, it also depends on other things like number of pumps in your tank (each pump contributes to the heat in the tank) and tank placement (sunlight or no sunlight). Or most of the time is in standby mode because I heard from my reefer friend claims that his artica chiller standby at 90% of the time.. The Thermal chiller mentioned uses a Peltier technology. The device may be 'cheaper' but its cooling efficiency is very poor. Much poorer than a traditional refrigeration unit. Hence a peltier thermal chiller will cost a lot more to run. As some folks mentioned here, the Hailea hs28a is a good choice. Quote Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/mysliceofnature/

SRC Member SimonLSB Posted October 2, 2014 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 2, 2014 i using tem chiller my temp is about 27 Hey Sherilyn, did your chiller running 24/7 or running on 50% of the time daily?
SRC Member Firestarter Posted October 3, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted October 3, 2014 Hey Sherilyn, did your chiller running 24/7 or running on 50% of the time daily? For your tank size,if you're using the biggest tem chiller available in the market, your chiller will be running 24/7 with temp 29'c ++ assuming ambient temp is 31'c. Get a compressor chiller instead. For the person who recommended the nano tem chiller, please don't give others bad advice.
