6 x 39W T5 enough?

Recommended Posts

the more the merrier. but hv u considered:

6 x 39W = 234W roughly equilvalent of 1 x 250W MH.

8 x 39W = 312W roughly equilvalent of 2 x 150W MH.

not much diff in elect bills if u ask me. ;) r u utilising a chiller?

wat abt the cost of purchasing 6 to 8 39W top quality T5s compared to setting up MHs? give it some consideration ya....... :peace:

Given that your tank is 3ft square, I'd say go for at least 8x or 9x T5s; in a 2 x "4 tubes" or 3 x "3 tubes" retrofit configuration. Are you getting you lights DIYed or OEM? Choose your T5 tubes and reflectors carefully. The latter is equally important.

With T5s, you get edge to edge light coverage.

There are several brands of quality T5s in the market to choose from, some more established/expensive than others.
