from what i know, a skimmer is to rid waste products in the tank.currently i think one of my nemo is sick ( got one eye bigger than the other. ) is this due to not having a skimmer for my tank?

Guess your nemo got some infection.....but it will go away if you keep the water clean......My blue tang kanna before also but it goes away after a while.....good husbandry is very important for healthy fish....... ;)

Have fun......

i also think so <_< . if it is a need. how much would one cost and where to get it?

For such a small tank....go get a air filter type.....< $10 I believe......but it will be very un-sightly hanging in such a small tank......alternatively change the water more frequently.....10-20% will be alright.....

therefore, you need a hang on type.

AquaC makes very good hang on type but price may be high. Unless you see yourself using it for long term. Red Sea prizm is lower priced but there are mixed opnion about it. At the lower end is Via Aqua and Jebo, but the Jebo has a bigger pump inside tank.

Thanks for the infos.

This Via Aqua seems interesting and don't quite occupy much space;

Any idea how much does it cost and which lfs in S'pore is available?

Thank you. ;)

try Aqua marin or C328.

less than $110 approx.

Alternatively, Jebo has a hang on filter that incorporate a skimmer into it. cost below $40 from C328

DUDE, 3 simple steps to invest on.

1) LIVE SAND

2) LIVE ROCKS

3) WATER CHANGES (I suggest using Tropic Marin)

Invest on these, you dont need a skimmer IF you have LOW bioload.

And good salt mix.

If you are patient enough no need livesand, can save the money for something else. If you dun have a busy life then can do without skimmer if not better get one.

need some help from bros using a simple air driven skimmer... I just got 1 for my 2ft tank as I was thinking "do I really need expensive skimmer" but I've to confess my bioload is quite high for a 2fter... anyway I setup the skimmer and followed the instructions on the box but the collection cup "flood" very easily, is that normal? I thot its suppose to have just foam... any kind bros pls advise
