Giving up Hobby...

Yo guys,

Having much discussed with my wife, we have made a drastic decision to give up this hobby in view of new commitments. Yes, the decision was painful but we would like to free up more time to concentrate on new church responsibilities and family matters...

Will be using my beautiful 5 foot tank to keep 200 cardinal tetras instead...

I have the following livestocks and additives for sales.... pick up is tomorrow between 3pm to 6pm. Do pm me if you are interested. Remember, I will decide WHO I WANT TO SELL TO... sales is NOT on a first come first served basis.

Pix of my livestocks will come up shortly... All my fishes are quarantined and copper treated for one month and more. So they are in great conditions (No more bargaining hor).... The fishes are still in the QT tank (copper removed) and can be picked up anytime.

wow seamokee

salute you sia

to give up for GOd

I will never never can be like you

A real God chaser

God will bless you back 100 folds lol

The cross before us, the world behind us...

The cross before us, the world behind us...

The cross before us, the world behind us...

no turning back... no turning back...

:lol::D

Thanks bro... my obsession with marine fishes has made me lose quality time with God and family... It is not the money but rather time. I really appreciate you bros for trying to dissuade me from giving up this hobby but seriously, my wife and I have gone through some thinking and we know what we are doing...

Rather than "giving up", I rather say I have been released from this overly obsession with fishes. If it is gonna rob me of my time with God and all, then I rather remove it than have it... even though it is rather pitiful with all that investment.

Hey, when Peter, James and John dropped off their nets (living hood) to follow Jesus, they did it wholeheartedly without calculating their initial investment losses in boats and fishing gears, rite? I have caught the same vision and going for something better too... ;):D:lol:

Seriously, my wife and I are convicted into the "people" ministry and to serve the Lord in that manner. Helping others in their lives requires time and both of us are glad that we are called to do so...

I don't want to cheat myself telling myself that if I managed my time well, I can cope and stuff.... honestly, MARINE FISH KEEPING requires a lot of time, energy and money.... I think this is something most of the lao chiaos have been advocating for a long time... Nope, I have not regretted picking the hobby up in the first place, honestly, this three years of reefing has been a wonderful experience to me. I have learnt so much about marine life and if you ask me, I take my money investment as tuition fee for the knowledge gained....:D

I will still come in once in a while to "ka chao ka chao" though and yeah, maybe in the future, once things are more settled down or if I shift to a new house (again), I may just go for a 2' cube FOWLR marine tank.. hehehe... ;)

yep you are like casting a net over the sea

haha i like making my tank like a idol

That was what was happening to me.... my marine tank became my idol and pride in my life.... that should not be the way.... time is better spent elsewhere and in my case, it will be my walk with God.... ;)

Honestly, I will stick to 2 ft nanos and keep it easy if marine is still a passion... ;)

Yo bro,

Sad to see you converting your beautiful marine tank. This is my rare case logging in after couple months to catchup on happenings and saw this thread. :(

However, sometimes it is good to stop, reflect and re-calibrate your focus to be on track in life, as I was forced to do. I do not mean just hobby here.

Cheers.

PS : You will not see much of the 200 cardinals in a planted tank that size. Go for at least 500 pcs. I had to shoo my 200+ cardinals out of the plants to see them in my 3ft tank  .

bro,wat do the crab feeds on?

all the best & god bless ;)

The crab feeds on detritus and leftover food... requires lot of leg space (on the sandbed).

It is active in the night... by tomorrow, my tank is always cleared of detritus and leftover food.... good scavenger...
