SRC Member clowntrigger Posted October 12, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted October 12, 2003 my advice to those who want to keep a cuke, make sure that your tank is mature and large, preferably 6mth and 4 ft above. Reason being that if your tank is pretty new, it will not have enough food for the cuke. Small tank will also mean that the surface area is small and food will be limited, this is just my thought. SRC Member newdamsel Posted October 13, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted October 13, 2003 I have a rather small cuke in my 2 footer... been surviving for 9 months already eating on sand. But main hting is, your sand must really be matured sand in order for it to survive...
SRC Member bum Posted October 13, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted October 13, 2003 dude.... make sure your sand is fine enough to pass through their digestive tract. No. 0 or 1 is ok. also please read up on sea cukes before buying, donkey dung or otherwise... i had one once, regret getting now upon hindsight. His name was Cuke Nukem good luck bro. oceanics
Care to share what they eat, is it all the shit, algae??? How much do u guys pay for it... When u say mature tank, what kind of element does the cuke need to survive
Achilles Tang
Donkey Dung cukes are detritus eaters and I believe bacteria on the sand grains is part of its diet.
