i think u need to supplement yr lightings with T5...dun think is enough with 2 230W maxspect...in terms of the length to cover 6ft end-to-end.

Return power of 16,000 l/hr, sounds scary...

Sump tank thickness, i would suggest 10mm - 12mm instead of 8mm..considering the amt of water and the vibrations caused by the return pump...to be on a safe side.

for the turn over rate at 20x the main tank water still ot that bad

so that's why i connect the return pump outside of the sump with ehim rubber hose

i've seen a nice 6ft planted tank recently which give me a final on the piping design for easy maintanace as well

it depends on how old is your unit(standard used to build flat) and my friend who decommed his 6ft was asked to dismantle during valuation check as it is not approved. Anyway, at times, no risk no gain. Life is short, play hard. Envy you for a big tank. Yr fishes will be very happy. : )

With this size of tank will hold 225 Gal > 850l. What I understand salt water will havey than fresh water ( Fresh water 1l ~ 1 Kg ). You may need to consider weight of sump, cabinet and all equipment. I quite sure it will more than 1 ton. I did see tank. I think around 8 ft but it sit direct on beam. You may consider that. My tank is 5 x 2 x 2.5 I ask HDB for approval it take around 3 wks to get approved

Tank Spec :

Display tank : 48" x 24" x 18."'(H)

Sump tank : 25" x 23" x 18"(H)

Return pump : Reef Octopus 8000

Wave Maker : Vortech MP10Wes

Lighting : DIY LED (Cree led) 60 bulb

Chiller : helia 55hs

Skimmer : BM Curve 7

Controller : Reef Angel
