Which lfs to get liverock

Recommended Posts

If u dun mind spending, highly recommend liverocks from coral farm. It has one of the best quality LR there, but also the most expensive (about $16 per kg i think).

If u want cheaper LR u can get from Iwarna (about $8 per kg i think).

Most LFS will sell LR, like Ah Beng, LCK, ML etc. Price is less than that at CF.

From what I have noticed amongst the various LFSs, only Coral Farm cures its live rocks in the best manner possible i.e. suspended above a tub under a spray bar where all pests and hitchhikers can drop off to the bottom.

The best i've seen so far is at Iwarna. 8 bucks per kg and its extremely well clean. No worms / sponges etc....superb

Go checkout CF's LR bro. I got mine from them.

You do pay a premium but every cent is well spent. You pay for quality

- well cured

- nice shapes and various sizes

- really easy to scape. simple stack a few rocks together and you will have difficulty identifying where are the contact points/ joints.

- quite free of hitchhikers (but i did some small crabs) but overall still very clean

Eqpt: Deltec MCE 600, Tunze 6055 with Tunze 7091 controller, Artica 1/15 HP chiller, AquaIllumination Sol Blue LED Light System

2011 resolution : Do it simpler, better and in an easier way!

Understand that CR is selling fiji rocks and many claims to be very good. Why is it so? Is it because the shape is good?

I bet you mean CF... Not sure if they are fiji...Their rocks are of good shape and most importantly extremely porous. This will allow more bacteria to be housed.

Just found out that MarineLife at West Coast is very accessible from my office. How's the live rock available there?

They have very good quality live rock at their shop. View to believe. Happy shopping...
