IMHO, effectively; a good single 250W MH (assuming good ballast/reflectors/etc) shldn't hv any problem giving a coverage surface area of 2ft by 2ft. as for depth coverage, it is dependent on the intensity and "punch factor". i wld say u need at least 3x 250W MH for ur 6 ft setup. HTH.

looks like a pod to me. hv a few of those swimming happily in my FR.

they r expelling symbolic zooxanthallae found in coral tissues. not a good sign as it is normally associated with corals bleaching & dying.

that's a stomatella. harmless little fella which grazes selectively on nuisance algae. esp diatoms.

there r no end to myths, legends, facts, etc into saving petrol. if i tell u grounding ur electrical circuitry enhanced with a voltage stabilizer saves petrol, wld u believe it? even changing a simple air intake filter to something like K&N or hurricane filters (relatively inexpensive compared to changing the whole intake) will give u HP gain and saves petrol. ........ and i dun even carry a spare tyre in my boot.

u shld hv removed ur coral chips by stages and not all at one shot. there is a sudden loss of biological filtration and i guess that loss is too huge for ur LS to take. IMO, salinity is best kept btw 1.023-1.025. FYI chemi-pure is also GAC. dun think that's diatom, shld be cyanobacteria.

u can go back to aquatechnic or alternatively, u can give derek of pac coo a call at 97979910. he does servicing and repair of chiller as well.

left out an impt point. remember to poke the pin thru a pc of stopper b4 pinning the ric down to ur LR. then gently push the stopper against ur ric. this is to make sure that ur ric is in contact with the LR, so that it will attach itself. hope u get what i mean.
