  1. as long as is non-seasoned seaweed is fine.
  2. i'm using jebao dc return pump 4000L as well. relatively silent. most importantly low power consumption. i think it only draws 28 or 38W. been running for 4 months so far so good.
  3. If yours is a standard 2ft x 1ft x 1ft tank, you may wish to consider to draw half of the water out. Request help from the tank delivery guy, to carry the old tank down. i think 2 adults should be able to carry the tank down.
  4. 1) When your new tank arrive, move all your livestocks / water (may not necessary to be all, but at least 50% and above) / rocks/substrate to pails , with airstone. 2) Mix new salt water (if required) 3) Empty the old tank 4) Place the new tank on the rack and dump everything inside
  5. for skimmer, you may wish to consider to grab this Deltec 1455 at 500++ 3k budget for a 3ft tank is pretty comfortable. Looking forward to your new setup
  6. i'm also facing the same problem, due to miscalculation, the sump water level is too high. Check your Skimz SM201 recommended water level. I placed a plastic basket (with alot of holes) to raise my skimmer.
  7. or place a 2-dollar basket/tray from daiso to raise the height of the skimmer.
  8. i'm surprised too, unless reefers can get it at a lower price in other LFS.
  9. a value-for-money product ! reasonable priced with satisfactory results !
  10. thanks guys I have some extra rocks lying in the sump. Several rocks are still being cooked (due to aiptasia infestation). Guess is time to visit some LFS, get some hardy corals to fill the empty space !!
  11. I also placed my filter sock higher than the sump. But I'm using a 7" nylon sock. Guess won't have the overflow issues. But thanks for highlighting this
  12. should be the sand sediments which caused the cloudy water. Usually will settle down in a day or 2 . did you wash the sand before introducing into your tank?
  13. gdc0910, LCK201 have one shipment recently, but not too sure if have sold out.
  14. it is advisable to run your skimmer during the cycling stage. have you added anything into your tank ? any water circulation ?
  15. A brief update after 3 months of the setup. As you can see, not much corals/fish have been added. RBTA not doing well. Losing its tips. I guess the tank is still too new for him. Rest of the corals are doing fine. Coralline algae is spreading fast. Lost one Onyx clown suppose to be in a pair YT and purple goby still alive and kicking. Has some minor flatworms and aiptasia infestation. Still trying to look for their natural predators. Not tested the water parameters. Havent changed water for about 5 weeks. But started to use polyplab reef-resh products.
  16. Interested in getting one as well. Love the striking red!
  17. Chuchu, I suggest you read this, pertaining to the water parameters: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-05/rhf/
  18. Limited 3 pcs of Pristigenys Niphonia are available in Marinelife Clementi !
  19. The best and easiest way is to do regular water change with reliable salts. That will give you what you want.
  20. Anyone spotted Halichoeres-family wrasse? preferably with nice coloration like radiant or Christmas or Vrolik. Thanks !
  21. What's your budget ? How big is your tank? http://www.gemsurfs.com/topup.html or you can look for Tunze Osmolator® Nano 3152 if your tank size is small.
  22. Mellow, There have been mix reviews of these peppermint shrimps consuming glass anemones. I have one in my tank for about 3 weeks, which it never touch them. I guess once they were introduced tasty fish food, they will forget about the anemones. I subsequently tried berghia (have to remove peppermint), too bad i only bought one for my 50gal system. No sign of missing anemones . I guess probably need a group of few to be effective.
  23. There's a recent PT shipment at Iwarna. Based on the field report, 4 left as of yesterday noon. Not sure about the size though.
  24. Dear all, Thanks for your help. Guess really nothing much can do except to boost the fish health and immune system.
