I had the same problem previously. Discovered that it was due to epoxy.

This observation was discussed on RC before.

Just let it run for a few days and it should return back to normal.

Good luck.

certain stuff added to the water will cause skimmers to react abnormally...I won't be surprised if the whole tube of epoxy is causing this hyperactiveness of your H&S...

If your H&S is external version that uses a feed pump, try to reduce the rate of the water feed and see if it helps. And also make sure your outlet is at full open position for now.

wonder how long it will take to return to normal.

Was doing fine this morning, in the noon epoxy some of my coral and who know in the evening it flood my collection cup.

My H&S is external version that uses a feed pump tried to reduce the input to the skimmer but still the same flooding

only way i can do now is to close the air intake but does it affect my water quality

Mine cleared in a few days.

The overflow caught me off-guard. All the skimmate went back into the tank.

I washed the cup and just continue to let it run (overflowing foam & water) for a few

days. One fine day, it just stopped by itself.

Hi sunny03, good for you. One-quarter cup of my yucky smelly skimmate returned to

tank due to the overflow. Nowadays, I'm paraniod of using epoxy. But sometimes

got no choice. But I will use only a little at a time and also clean out the cup before

using a new epoxy.

Sorry, I don't know whether the carbon will help. But I guess no harm trying.

Keep us posted on the results. Thanks. :)

It's normal for needlewheel skimmers to overflow when you use epoxy in your in your tank.

Like all the bros said, reduce your the air intake. This is greatly reduce the overflowing from the skimmer.

Just to clarify whether it's foam or water that is overflowing in the skimmer.

If it's foam, it is diffinitely due to the epoxy in the water and am not too sure whether too much of it would be detrimental to your corals . In this case your skimmer is actually doing it's cleaning up job well. One fast way is to do some water change and things should improve.

Now the overflowing of foam can be control by reducing the air

but now the output of water got so many bubble in it, how

to reduce the bubbles from flowing in the sump which make

my main tank showing tiny bubbles now
