Star Polyp NOT OPEN!!!

I recently bought a star polyp from AA(the one with white creepng mat).

When it was there WOW----- :yeah:

but when i got it home AHHHH :cry:

Any suggestions why is that happening?

Stats of my tank:

pH: 8.3

Alk: 9.5 dKh

Ammonia: 0.0

Nitrite: 0.1

Nitrate 0.0

Other corals are alrite:zoos, hammer, bubble, octo lps

Only a little bit of its(star poylp) tenticles are out

Be patient, they will open.

Only some of the polyps are extended now... :(

HOWEVER, they seems to be like balloon not fully pumped..!! :angry:

Hmm...About the lighting, itz the four tube 2feet rainbow T5(4 x 14W)

izzit enough..?I was told by the owner of an lfs that the lighting is sufficient even for lps!!! :fear:

ANY suggestions i would be happy!! :bow:

by right 1 or 2 days it would open liao.

Make sure there's some gentle flow too..

need good light & moderate flow. i put mine high up near the overflow. now it grown so much my glass & the overflow inlet are full of star polyps. learnt this from a fellow reefer & it actually works.

but it do get stress easily & will not open for the 1st few days.

Beside water perimeter and flow, the lighting is very important. Mine within 2 mnths it grow to other rocks, it under 250w metalhalide.

(bro UFO, like your star polyps :bow: )

Change their place and give them strong current and lighting is essential. ;)

star polyps shld nt be place in strong current...the polyps do not like it... :D
