roidan
How would you rate the quality of his tank? what silicon did he use? sorry to ask so much but im urgently looking for a good tank maker. i would rate it as very good.....can see that the seams are properly joined and neatly siliconed......the silicon is from germany...you can ask him if you are particular about it... terryansimon
Gerald aka tank_maker on arofanatic.com he is a very nice guy and I'd almost bought my tank from him if I didn't find out that my old army friend/buddy actually is in the fish business and he does tank customisation as well. no offence to Gerald, but I'd go for my friend as he iss a friend of mine and if there's anything that goes wrong I can hunt him down and wring his neck dry. very nice guy. Gerald that is. and he bothered explaining everything about tanks to me. and that was at a time when I was still a complete moron when it comes to terminology. not like I've had any remarkable improvement right now, but it sure beats a month or so ago when I was a complete idiot. didn't even know the meaning of eurobracing and blah blah blah. SRC Member flubberina13 Posted November 3, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted November 3, 2003 For looks...you already got a pretty girlfriend but for sump... May I suggest you get the works of a carpenter to build a right-angled U-shaped partition just to block it up and when you need, pull out the whole thing and start working on the sump...put some designs on the front panel to correspond with your room's decor? And you have a nice reef..... nope...i made the 2 durso pipes myself....but i may end up doing another 2 bigger pipes coz the flow of my eheim 1262 seems to overwork the 2 pipes.... evidence: the water level is above the elbow of the durso pipes..meaning full flow already..not good... the bulkheads, valves and pump return piping was done by the tankmaker Quote Advanced Aquarist (March05)

roidan
baby durso meets papa durso actually according to the durso founder, the size of the durso pipe does not really matter....its the bulkhead size that matters.... but from the practical run of my tank, i prefer the bigger pipe Quote Advanced Aquarist (March05)

moron
Nice tank. Is your sump 4ft too. Are U using 150watt MH? Think should put more sand...looks like only aboout 1 to 2 inches thick. Take your time to think through cause once everything is in U may realise there are still many things you should have done. Again, will update your inhabitant plse. roidan
ooops sorry did not noticed your sump sand bed. Nice! Waiting to see more of you future development hehe...i think adding a ruler to items makes visualization easier... that reminds me that even crime scene photographers put a ruler tape to every item they photograph so that size can be determined ....
