Harlequin Shrimp..

Recommended Posts

Yes..they onli eat sea stars. Have heard reports of them eating the legs of urchins or cukes..not sure how true these reports are...but so far mine is leaving my cuke alone.

A mated pair will get along. If you want to keep more than 1 but they are not mated pair..you will have to give them their individual territory and their individual starfish.

Always something more important than fish.

I donno about you guys but the thought of feeding a starfish to a shrimp just gives me the creeps... like feeding luo han live fishes, can't stand it...

Esp when the starfishes are alive and the shrimp just lops off a leg or two for a snack... eww...

wad u mean by individual territory and individual starfish??

btw where to find a mated pair???

or u choose yourself one???

i went s couple of LFS. only find the individual.. nv see mated pair before..

Mated pairs come in as mated pairs in the shipping bags. They will be placed together in the same container. You can try to pair them up urself using individuals..but chances are that it will be a very expensive experiment.

Individual territory = etc...place them on opp ends of a 3 ft tank.

Individual sea star = each shrimp : 1 sea star lor.

Always something more important than fish.

this type of shrimp is really nice to look at and was once the top choice to keep. But the thought of having to feed it with starfish and now knowing the mess it will create while feeding really puts me off..

one guy less to rush for this shrimp :D
