If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless.

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

  • 4 months later...

i never knew it was about 5 months ago when i last update.

recently had been busy with work since i entered into society, hardly have weekends, almost everyday worked till late and work brought home. no time for shopping spree on live stock, future-wife-to-be complaining no time for all. worst of all no time for maintenance.

coraline growing on my front display, medium didnt change, lazy to do water change, corals toppled, fish unfed and got skinny. many

corals were off the cliff.

sps toppled and I didnt bother and most of them were bleached or half dead when i picked them up yesterday.

only recently i realize some of my corals and fishes werent doing too well as my prized zoas shrinked up, it was only then that i took some time off to work on my tank.

for at least 4 months to 5 I didnt do water change and for atleast 3 months, i didnt changed carbon/rowa/chemical dosing.

my water parameter after 220L water change was:

Ca: 380

Mg: 1380 (Weird)

PO4: ~0ppm (bloody Weird)

KH: 3.8 dkh!!!!!!!!

NO3: 0~0.1ppm

surprisingly my sps were ok, PO4 and NO3 in check.

After one day of adjustment with waterchange, medium changing and element dosing: things start to look better.

these are some of the images taken from my iphone, its shitty but at least thats the least i can do to document.

some corals got larger and some other colored up where some other lost colors.

Welcome to the cruel working society LOL .. Even without much attention, your tank still look as great as before groupwavereversed.gif. It is hard to balance between work and hobby at times, especially when this hobby require more attention as compare to freshwater. But the satisfaction of seeing a beautiful and healthy tank is also priceless friends.gif

Bro, still a nice tank! Someday gotta visit you after my exams :)

Well time management is necessary in our lives. It's an inevitable sacrifice that we must undertake to do what's right and follow the correct path.

I see you are still doing fine thus far. Corals' death are inevitable; yet future shipments can always bring some of them back.

But family, job and future wife to be; those are irreplaceable :)

Hope you're doing well. Cheers :)

Happy Reefing,

Marc J.
