In most cases, damsel are not the ultimate fish that many have in mind in a long run. For begineer to buy a damsel just to learn how to keep marine fish, is in a way, wrong. Generally for a tank crowd with inhabitants, its fine to have damsel(s).This is not so for a nano or pico system. So unless a person set up his tank just to have damsel in mind, keeping damsel as begineer fish is not the best option. But back to the topic, if we are saying which fish is more suited for begineer due to their hardiness...damsel could very likely be in the list.

Sometimes it's not about what level is the keeper but how ready is the tank... If the tank is mature and well cycled with a good maintenance routine, I can't see why beginners should shy away from keeping their dream fishes

Offer my input too:

Clarkii Clown - Super Easy and Bullet Proof for me.

Had him for 2 years..... then one day, it starts dragging all my other Percula Clowns down to the bottom and let go. Bite them.

All Perculas Died.

I was quite shocked.

Maybe it only happens to me.

Scopas Tang - Easy & Super Hardy !

Flame Back Angel - Easy & Super Hardy.

Fox Face - Easy and Tame

Agree. Maroon, tomato and fire clowns are very aggressive. I had a fire clown tat grew from a cute 1 inch to terror 4inch. Even my fingers are not spare.
