  1. Finally, eh.. Wow....the joys of raising ocellaris - second stripe in just a few days! They should be well patterned in another couple of weeks or so....
  2. ...you will have to go to HK to join bro Chungsl Always thought of trying.....but sounds like too much work - OK for the occassional fun thing to do but kind of a chore to do daily to feed larvae! But that's me....always looking for the lazy way out
  3. That's very normal behaviour...the male tends to the eggs whilst the female protects the territory. She will only really begin to help about the day of hatch, which is generally around day 7 or 8 at our temps. Easier to take the nest out to hatch...if not, then have fun trying to catch them out
  4. From Aum.... Looked pretty good when I saw them. Let's hope it's just a passing problem....
  5. should not be a problem lah....some shipments take much longer than that to get to sg. I think aprox ratio should be 1/3 water and 2/3 02. Probably more important to not feed the fish for a day or two before packing....
  6. Those are Bali ocellaris (false perculas). They were normal orange, according to the auntie there - just feed lots of cyclopeeze!
  7. The RC thread is about the definition of "onyx" perculas, not a defination of True perculas. True perculas (Amphiprion percula) can be "onyx" or not, and to make things more confusion, there is also "Solomon Island" percs that are similar to "onyx". There is no universal grading system, if that is what you are asking. It is up to the seller to put a "grade" on his fish. Basically it is a "willing buyer - willing seller" situation - you like, you buy.
  8. Wow! cans of rotifer cysts! Do let me know if they reply to you. It would be most useful in emergency situations.....
  9. Nothing new.....just taking a v-e-r-y l-o-n-g t-i-m-e to pattern and color up Going onto something like spawn no 13 or so.....
  10. Not all true percs have black connecting all the bars.....most only have some black between the first and second bar, and some have no black connections at all! Not that they're not nice - the super red ones can be very very beautiful....
  11. Not a bad problem to have... Search the LFS forum for "tokyo LFS" and you should find some threads on the LFS there - too long ago already and I can't remember what I posted!
  12. Wah lao...80's kids!....now I really feel old! Actually, none of the uniforms look good - think they are all designed to eliminate figures to dampen hormones See the same girl after school
  13. Color is not right and dorsal is wrong.....
  14. This one quite common lah....every season sure to have a few
  15. Better report from day 1 unless you have a good creative accountant! Also if you don't self-contribute to medisave, they can somehow arrange it such that you would not be able to renew your license (for shop, business etc) unless you pay up! IRS and CPF really no joke one....
  16. Just browsing around my fav Japanese reef shop! Natural - tropical marine fish and corals
  17. ....just to add: if anyone wants to see breeding clownfish and how the nest looks like, go down to SL - they have a pair of ocellaris with a spawn in full view in their clownfish/anemone tank - who says they need privacy!
  18. Weisoon, Apparently there are glass polishing kits available - just read about this browsing TFH at MPH this afternoon...but no mention of brand or where to get! Most likely it will be quite hard to find in S'pore (as a lot of DIY things are) so best to search overseas. If you find, get me one OK? want to try it on some rather irritating scratches on the front glass of a small tank I just bought!!
  19. If they were true albinos, I'd pay much more than that!
  20. Only about USD$400 per pair.....could have dropped a bit by now...
  21. Congrats, bro.... Now the chain's well and truly locked..and key thrown away
  22. It was in a shipment that was 2 weeks old....you just have to look through all the common stuff to find the gems
