Admiraltian
its like a spike in tank parameters, like changing brand of salt. its just a guess since the tissue receding hapen quite some time back. Different factors contributing to the recede each time. This time is due to led radiation & also overdosing of additives such as trace elements. Ya KIT-KAT is doing very well. Not easy to maintain its colors. Ya, u r rite, bro. Not easy maintaining its colors. Starting to brown out & have small patches stn at the base. Not having high hope on this piece. Updates: Went shopping yesterday @ GO and some selected corals on sale while others prices are negotiable. So I got from bro Shan 4 pcs of sps @ $100 & a red prata also @ $100 which I think is quite reasonable. Some pics: Purple valida Green tort Blue tenuis Green lokani Last but not least, red prata, luv the green rims That's all and have a great week ahead, fellow reefers!! Admiraltian
nice and healthy SPSThanks for the compliments, bro. Some additions i got last week from bro Evolutionz. A red Mille, a green slimmer, poker chips zoas and some metallic gsp. Here are some pics of them in respective order. The gsp not really opening well. Rest of the corals doing well. My red prata that I've gotten some wks back doing well too. Was initially worried abt it acclimatizing to my radion but so far no signs of bleaching and tissue receding. Keeping my fingers crossed. Here's a pic of it. On a side note, I have been trying out some zeovit or korallen zucht products namely zeobak and zeovit coral vitalizer except without deploying zeovit method, zeolite stones reactor & stuff. So far so good except been noticing my rowaphos in my tlf phosban reactor turning greyish blue after a week or so. Changed out twice my rowaphos and after it happened for the 2nd time, decided to reduce the dosage once a week as adviced by a bro instead of twice a week as I heard its quite potent and concentrated. Dunno if the zeobak is reacting due to it been another media and not zeolites and thus the zeobak bacteria eating into the rowa and turning it blue with the amt also becomes lesser after a week of dosing. Anyone encounter this before? Quote Display Tank : 36" x 20" x 20" Herbie overflow box design, Sump : 36" x 21" x 17", Frag Tank : 16” x 20” x 16”, custom built by Tank Culture. So far so gd, doing twice a week small amt of WC, and reduced dosing on additives. Changed new rowaphos every 2-3 wks. Green slime algae receded a little. wow super nice prata! dont worry the GSP (actually should be encrusting gorgonia) will do fine. they are hardy. Thanks, bro. Admiraltian
Another week has passed, nothing much to update. Green slime more or less under control. Was doing twice a wk small amt wc and changing of rowaphos media every 2-3 wks. Reduce quantity of additives being dosed. Think that's abt it. A pic of my mini zoas garden on rock, Another pic now with some rics, Juz realised earlier this wk, one of my smaller snowcasso went missing for a wk liao. Think shd be rip. Sad. Now my tank only has 7 fishes in all. Ok, that's abt all, til the next update. SRC Member james72 Posted September 26, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted September 26, 2013 Just sharing my gha outbreak counter strategy. I take out some of the corals n plug off as much gha as possible, re-glue them back. Break up my tank maintenance into twice a week, every mid week siphon accumulated detitus in tank & sump, Every end week change 10% water. Refuce feeding from 5 to 3 times a day, reduce photoperiod from 7 to 5hrs. Change rowaphos every month and daily check sufficient flow is channeling the rowaphos reactor, sometimes too low flow it just stop moving around. Activated carbon change twice a month. Reduce iodine n strontium dosage to min and maintain stable kH, temperature and Calcium. So far its a winning battle after a month.
