Thanks Evo!

Tank dimensions are 650x650x500mm.

For an SPS dominant tank, light maximisation was the guiding principle, both in terms of PAR and coverage. Spectrum wise, the 52HDs are already a proven light. And the Orphek, for that little extra visual effect and pop.

You're absolutely right! Mind sharing roughly how many % ur hydras are running at, at their peak?

Montipora Danae, 18 inches below the surface, maintaining colour and encrusting nicely. The bright green polyps against an equally bright blue base makes this coral a standout.

Key water parameters tested today, just before a 5% water change. Here are the results:
Ca 440ppm
Alk 7.6dKH
Mg 1395ppm
NO3 undetectable
PO4 <0.03ppm

It's been awhile since I last took a FTS, and this is my first with an orange lens filter.

Here's the reef at fifteen months after some re-scaping.

I auto-dose, so on initial setup, I tested the key parameters (CA/Mg/kH) weekly to establish the consumption needs of the corals. Thereafter, every other week.

NO3 and PO4 are almost always undetectable or close to zero, so I hardly test for those.

As for test kits, any of the reputable brands should work. I currently use Salifert.
